The music video for the song – which premiered on Friday (September 20) – is directed by Aiden Cullen, who turns the lonesome journey Shaboozey writes about into a cinematic companion piece to the moving tune. The clip is reminiscent of Wim Wenders’ 1984 road classic film, Paris, Texas, and it captures Shaboozey getting over a bad breakup with only his guitar and his song to heal him. The video also stars Jonathan Masters as a cowboy, while Tanner Johnson is the motorcycle rider in the clip. Ahead of the single and video release, Shaboozey gave a stirring performance of “Highway” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday. (Uproxx)
