Hollywood Hernandez

Hollywood Hernandez started his radio career in 1976, while still in high school, in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas. In 1977 Hollywood enrolled at Lamar University as a mass communication major.

In 1981 Hollywood moved to Dallas, Texas to do overnights at KKDA-FM (K104). He spent nearly 11 years at K104 (with a short break to become program director and morning show host at Kiss 92 Shreveport, LA in 1988). He eventually moved into the mid-day time slot and handled fill in duties for legendary morning jock, Tom Joyner. During Hollywood's pinch-hit duties for the "Fly Jock" he was usually matched up with a celebrity co-host. Co-hosts included Vanessa Williams, Barry White, and comedian Steve Harvey.

During Hollywood's career at K104, the station was named Billboard Magazine Urban Station of the Year (1986) and rose to #1 in Dallas/Fort Worth (1987). In 1992 Hollywood Hernandez moved to The Touch format at ABC Radio Networks. He also spent five years as program director and morning host on ABC Radio Networks' Classic R&B format.

Hollywood was born on 3/28/59. He is a single father with two grown daughters, Lisa and Robyn, and lives in Addison, Texas. In his spare time he enjoys movies, playing softball, riding jet skis and attending Texas Rangers' baseball games.
